Yoga Course – Spring 2019
Session 3: Self-Pacing
Wednesday, 30 January 2019
SELF-PACING = a process of self-monitoring to gradually progress in a smooth and comfortable manner on the spiritual path.
- respect the power of this knowledge and practices;
- apply it responsibly in your life
- err on the side of safety, sticking with a regular, stable practice
- consider carefully before you add a new practice
- if you overdo it and feel instability, uncomfortable energy, etc., back off from the new practices to your last stable program of practice; there you can regroup and take your time considering the best way to move ahead.
Roughness could come from:
- forcing the mantra,
- coming out of meditation too fast,
- too long meditation sessions for your constitution
The ideal routine will have (in this order):
- asanas 5 min
- pranayama 10 min
- meditation 20 min
If you need to decrease practices, do it in this order: asanas, pranayama, meditation.
You have to find your own balance and comfort zone.
Once you do, then you can go on with your routine for many years, adding on additional advanced yoga practices along the way.

We live in a time when many around the world are in a position to impact global consciousness in ways that were not possible even a few decades ago. When millions are empowered with effective self-directed spiritual practices, and have free access to worldwide communications (seen and unseen), anything can happen. Yogani
