“I began to experience more inner peace, happiness, stability, and an easier flow in life. Once I gained some momentum, it became more effortless.” C.
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra (Thomas Egenes’s translation):
1.2 Yoga is the complete settling of the activity of the mind.
1.14 Yoga becomes firmly established through regular and respectful practice for a long time.
3.2 Meditation is the continuous flow of awareness to a single point.

Tips for Deep Meditation:
- Sit in a quiet place., with back support.
- Be comfortable.
- Close your eyes.
- Repeat the mantra effortlessly.
- Use the mantra for the sound, not for the meaning.
- Do not attempt other procedures/techniques while doing deep meditation.
- Thoughts, emotions, sensations during meditation are normal. As they come up, they are released. In time, they show up less and less during meditation. The meditation clears the conscious and unconscious of deep impressions.
- Do not fight or suppress thoughts, emotions. If they are too strong, stay with them. When they subside, return to the mantra if there is still time in your meditation session.
- You could peek at a clock to learn when your meditation time is over. After a while, you will be able to tell by yourself when the session is over.
- Do the practice twice a day, before you start the day and before you start the evening activities.
- It is better to meditate before meals, as digestion and meditation may interfere with each other.
- Integrate the meditation in a routine (e.g., I wake up, shower, dress, meditate, have breakfast, etc.)
- Make a plan to deal with unexpected circumstances (you could meditate on a plane, a public place, on a bench in a park, etc.)
- Meditating just before bed might keep you awake.
- Honor the practice: When time is at a premium, meditate for a shorter period. Even a couple of minutes of meditation are important. However, do not make a habit of shortening the practice.
Experiences in Meditation may include sweating, no-much-happening, restlessness, bliss, yogic sleep, and so on. Most of them are symptoms of purification. Some of them mark milestones on the path to enlightenment.
Whatever your experience is in meditation, continue the simple procedure of repeating the mantra. When you realize you are off the mantra, gently come back to the mantra.
Experiences do not clear the path to enlightenment. The practice does. Continue with the practice.
You could enjoy spiritual experiences when they happen outside the meditation session. Efforts to repeat experiences are often a waste of time. Continue with the practice.

When I know I am nothing,
That is wisdom.
When I know I am everything,
That is love.
Between these two, my life flows.
